Post Gardening In the Central West NSW.
Hey Crowsters. It looks as tho its been very quiet on here of late. But here's a shout in the dark.

I am beginning to garden out the back of my house. I have limited space and live on a tall hill. Now I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions what grows well west of the blue mountains.
If any of you guys have had success growing vegetables, fruit and herbs in the central / eastern NSW region I would love to hear about your successes!

Much love to you all :) :new:

Wonderful!
Yeah that is where I am gardening too!
Here is a recent article about it: http://universallandrights.blogspot.com ... chris.html
I think you can grow just about anything here in the long run - by modifying the conditions.
When I first arrived I noticed that the sun is harsh in summer, so how to establish natural shade?
The rainfall is not that high, so how to retain water? ~ water is essential.
You need to think 'in the long term' and work on 'establishing' ~ the soil, the layout.....
Observe what already grows, and work with that, and grow what works for a start.
Experience is our teacher.
