Only an idiot would promote “random” gene insertion. Here's proof that “modification” is random and not controlled.
“In the case of a transgene, the insertion is a random event and can occur any where in the genome.”
“Transformation techniques use biolistics/particle bombardment or Agrobacterium tumefaciens to insert a gene.”

Truth is that the genetic engineering of crops will ALWAYS poison and ALWAYS fail!

January 31, 2011 “But the chromosomes do not sit quietly in their chosen spots; as cells alter their behavior and degree of specialization, the chromosomes move around, and this motion is important to proper cell functioning.”
“We've actually suggested that “self organization” is the driving force in all cellular architecture.”

Jan 18, 2011 “Biologists have long known that the DNA in chromosomes folds up in complex ways. They have now also demonstrated that individual chromosomes occupy distinct territories in the nucleus and that some chromosomes prefer the nuclear periphery, whereas others like to cluster closer to the core. Moreover, where chromosomes reside, and which chromosomes lie near one another, can strongly influence how cells function.”

“particle bombardment, in which fine particles of gold or tungsten are coated with the DNA construct and fired into the cells with a ‘gene gun’. Or else strong electric fields could be used to create pores in the cell membrane letting in the foreign DNA. These usually cause a lot of damage to the cells.”
“The process of insertion is uncontrollable and entirely random. The genetic engineer cannot yet target the insert to a specific site in the genome, nor preserve the intended structure of the insert itself. This results in many unpredictable and unintended effects. Depending on where in the genome and in what form the foreign genetic material is inserted, the resultant GMO will have distinctly different properties. The insert could jump into a gene of the host and disrupt its function, or the strong promoter signals in the construct could lead to inappropriate over-expression of host genes.”
