Hi there, I read I had to make a least a post not to be deleted so I thought a little intro might be handy. Firstly, I came across Max's stuff searching for things related to the recent draft Mental Health Bill as I made a petition to do my bit:
http://www.change.org/petitions/legisla ... -bill-2011(psychopathic bill btw if you've looked into it)
Anyway, I'm really impressed with what I've heard so far on YouTube, I thought too that some of what AJ Miller talks about seemed to be of the same flavour as Max. If you're not aware AJ says he's the same as 1st Century Jesus but because I personally find a lot of value in AJ's stuff, this is actually a well intended statement from me.
So I've been into listening to AJ's teaching for a little while now, before that I kind of just read up or investigated all things that took my interest mostly around topics of spirituality, psychology, philosophy, science even... but I didn't exactly prescribe to any one thing. Oh I still do read and investigate all manner of things by the way.
I personally agree that we have to first start by seeing ourselves as we are without our façades and masks and denials. So from there the process of changing ourselves happens, especially when we start desiring to be true to ourselves, which helps unravel all the fear about just doing that (being true) and that's when the reality really begins changes for us, in a step by step way with the ripple effect for others we interact with etc. I find even these online interactions a really interesting way to practice this because I tend to write what I feel, and I see what comes back, see the things in me I'm likely not seeing by the way others reflect back to me...
Also, that idea that emotions and intentions are language of our soul, makes sense to me too - so I'm hoping to learn more and more of that language as time goes on in whatever capacity I'm able to.
So, that's a bit of a lame introduction, perhaps too some may think I'm a little nuts - wouldn't be the first

but they'd be right - I am a little nuts, but luckily for me not majorly nuts, just a little
